I love these guys. Marshal has an amazing sense of humour and Sara is a real lady. Both were great sports when I ambushed them for a surprise engagement shoot during our scout of their ceremony location.

Willing to give anything a shot, we walked about the park, looking for nice backdrops. Sara and Marshal work very naturally together in front of a camera.

All Star Jam for Haitian Relief @ The Rusty Cage

Myself and a few other members of the Calgary Photography Group were invited to photograph an event for Haitian relief at the Rusty Cage.

Despite being a weeknight it was packed and people were generous, with an eleven thousand dollar donation to Red Cross by night’s end.

I got to meet interesting people, watch talented artists perform and contribute to a good cause.

Racher Interior Design Session 2

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of working with Stacy Racher, an interior designer here in Calgary. Having a crack at interior shots was both challenging a rewarding so doing more work for her was an opportunity to outdo myself. I was very happy with the results.

I really enjoy working with people who are interested in getting involved in the creative process, but at the same time, trust me enough to try something new and/or not on the regular agenda.

I hope to work with Stacy again in the future!

Just after Christmas I hauled my gear over to their home, pitched a backdrop and went to town – it was a blast!

Tool Shed @ SouthEast Block Party

For the past six or seven years, the residents of a SouthEast Calgary neighborhood drag fire pits, tents, and buckets of booze and party their asses off. My wife and I have attended three of them and we always have a good time. Tool Shed, a local cover band (with my father-in-law on guitar) have played nearly every year and at least for the past three.

A most challenging experience for me, shooting at high ISO’s for the first time with my new Canon 50D.
